One Absolutely Amazing Meeting

Last week was our Ohio South Team Meeting and it was a great one.

I made sure to get there early to help set up and arrange where people were going to sit. I got to sit by the great Grimm and in front of Macaroni who are both great guys. We had our DOS (Director of Sales) and our VP of Sales in town for this meeting. So it was a crowded room.

Meeting starts with business as usual. Statistics were thrown around and we got to see where we ranked in different areas. We were actually on the top of most of the lists so that was reassuring. One slide went up showing how we were ranking in our team in different areas. My shock came when I was in second place for non national Advantage account activity. That is very good.

Then we got into our life production. Which is kind of low. So we threw around some ideas and I got to pitch a new program that I had discovered. It was impressive for most of the team and I got plenty of questions on it. It is so new that the DOS really had not seen the finished product until she saw my book. And she was impressed.

The it was the DOS's turn to speak. She started out by pointing out what each team in the nation was known for. We had no clue where we stood out until she pointed it out to us. We are known as the most competitive team in the nation. And I have to agree with her. We really are. She continued on with words of encouragement and then it was time for lunch.

When I went to lunch I was a bit delayed due to a phone call. When I got there I had found that there was a spot saved for me with the DOS and the other two women on the team. It was a great lunch and I was encouraged to get my passport now for Montreal. How exciting.

We came back to the meeting to the thing I hate the most. Role play exercises. And majority of everyone picked the same scenario. My team was different and picked two other scenarios. That broke up the mood and made it a little easier.

Then it was time for the VP of Sales to speak. More encouragement and challenges for several of our team members. I was shocked when I heard my name. Then was even more shocked with what he had to say. In front of the whole team he informed me that I have the most potential on the team and to keep plugging after the new program that I had found. He told me to make it successful for all of us. After a few seconds of shock, I agreed to do so. After all, it is not everyday that the VP of Sales personally requests something of you.

Day ended earlier than expected and we were out of there. All in all, I had a great time at this meeting and left super charged. And it has already shown in my work performance. I hope to be able to keep this up and make the Montreal trip. I know that E and I could really use this vacation.
