May And June Combined

I have been absolutely terrible about blogging. And for that I apologize. I have read other blogs and have been up to date with Facebook but have not really taken the time to update my blog. How terrible.

To make things easy I am going to summarize the past two months to the best of my ability. A lot of things have happened to make me think and to give me inspiration.

May was a fairly decent month. A few ups and downs but I have survived. Here are a few:

Mothers Day - My Mother's Day is always in kind of a hiatus due to E doing sound at Ohio Cinderella States. Since the money is good and I get a pageant fix I do not complain. I wanted to do random photos on the beach or in a park with B. I am always behind the camera and rarely in front of it. We could not do it later that day due to the lovely Ohio weather and the threat of a tornado. My Mothers Day activity had to be postponed and we have not made it up yet. Kind of a bummer but it will hopefully get done soon.

Uncle Kenny's Got A Girlfriend!! - Yes, it is official. My brother has a girlfriend!! I will call her Nik and she is great!! He is completely smitten with her and her personality completely compliments him. This is the happiest I have ever seen him in a relationship and it is wonderful to see him this way. He had his annual cookout on his birthday (which coincides with Memorial Day) and she was there to greet everyone and converse with everyone. Everyone really liked her and that makes a huge difference.

How Hard Have You Worked? - Work has been picking up for me. Getting busier and busier. I look forward to the busy. May was not a strong month for me but thank goodness June was very strong. I am heading toward a strong July and I am thrilled with that. I hope to be as busy as I was last year around the 4th of July. I had a beautiful week last week but I definitely do not want to flatline after that. I relate my work performance to that similar to a heartbeat. As long as I have a steady beat with a few spikes here and there I am doing well. If I can gain more life insurance I will be doing much much better....

Crop Until You Drop - I have been scrapbooking a lot more lately. I have made a mental note to take time aside for myself every month to catch up on my lovely books. June awarded me two times to do it. Once with my CME gals and one with my mom and Nik. I did a regular Nancy crop (as I shall call it) with the CME gals and I did a Summer Lovin' Crop with Mom and Nik. The Nancy crop was for 6.5 hours and I got several pages done that evening including an extrememly cute crop kit that I got from the fee that I paid. The Summer Lovin' crop was for 14 hours and I got a record number of pages done. That record would be 20 pages!! I have to give mad props to both Mom and Nik for hanging in there with me. Mom was absolutely convinced that she could not do it for 14 hours and Nik was running on 3 hours of sleep. After a shot of a 5 hour energy drink she was perfectly fine and ready to tackle her albums. Mom finished her Alaska album, her wedding album and started her Disney album. Nik continued her Italy album and attempted to start her Hawaii album. I continued working on B's album and LoLi's album. We definitely had a great time.

More Activities Please - I have been busy finding activities for B to be a part of. He will have soccer again this fall. I am also putting him in Tiger Scouts as Boy Scouting has always been a big part of our lives. I found a troop for him and am trying to get a hold of the ScoutMaster. There will be boys from his school and other Westerville and New Albany schools so that will be good for him. I have also signed him up for Sunday School as he needs to be more exposed in our faith. I hesitated putting him in Sunday School last year due to the time constraint and we like to travel on weekends but now with the price of gas being ridiculous (Thank you Bush for yet another screw over! Hope that you and your boys are enjoying my money!!) it is the perfect time to do it. I have signed up to either help with the Kindergarten class or decorate the bulletin boards to help defray cost and to guarantee that we will be there. He will also be attending Vacation Bible School in another week.

Kindergarten Graduation - My baby has graduated from Kindergarten!! I cannot believe that the school year went so fast! I was an absolute mess that day. On top of the emotions I was feeling about him moving up another grade, I was sick with strep and a double ear infection. Not a good combination. They all looked so cute in their little paper graduation caps but it made me think about 12 years from now and that stirred a ton of emotion. My eyes teared up as I realized exactly how fast he is growing. It is too fast. I wish that I could slow time down to really enjoy more of him but I know that I cannot do it. And my heart breaks then....

Witch In Law calls - I actually had my Witch in Law call a few weeks back on my work phone. I have not spoken to her in three years. Does she really think that I will just pick up the phone and talk to her like nothing has ever happened? Not so much. After the call, I called his grandmother. The only woman I trust in that family to see why the Witch In Law would call. She then informed me that she had recently found out that she is in the final stages of pancreatic cancer and they really cannot do anything about it. She originally did not ask how much longer she had to live but she recently found out that it is three more months. With radiation treatment everyday it can be extended to at least 10 months. My heart breaks to think of her not being around and what we will have to face at her funeral. It will be a rough road. Please keep her in your prayers as she is a wonderful woman.

That is about all for now. Have to go get our God On. Thanks for reading!!
