Repeat of Last Year - New Years To Do List

I had put this on my blog at the end of December of last year. I followed every one religiously and had a better year. I will have to say that I had a great business and personal year with some good twists. I did have some things that did not happen as I wanted them to (pregnancy) but I do know that it is in God's hands and the answers will come at some point. I just have to be strong enough to listen to them and see where they lead me.

Anywhoo. Here is that list again!!

How To Have Good Luck In The New Year!!!

I am superstitious. That is one thing to know about me. So this is important.

We had an okay year. There have been some struggles and some good things to come. I am very nervous yet excited about the new year. So I went on line and found these items. Hopefully it will bring great luck to us all.

Another one that is not on here is to eat only pork on New Years Eve and New Years Day. No chicken at all!!!! The pork is also pushing ahead where the chicken is scratching back into the previous year.

Suffice it to say, these will all be used. In some form or another.

Read what I have found on YAHOO below:

Traditionally, with the New Year’s Day approaching, people become more superstitious when it comes to luck. All around the globe there are so many traditions and customs that are supposed to bring good luck to folks. Many persons believe strongly in these good luck-bringing customs and they never forget to repeat them year after year. Here are some of these actualized good luck traditions. Hope to bring you good luck!

Instructions
Difficulty: Easy
Things You'll Need
to be superstitious
optimism
to be open minded

Steps

Step One - An interesting good luck custom is to eat fish specialties at the New Year’s Eve Party! It is said that you’ll swim through the New Year like a fish. You will be able to move smoothly and easily and go beyond obstacles with facility in the New Year.

Step Two - At midnight, between the year ready to conclude and the one to follow, make sure you have some money in your pocket or purse. If the New Year finds you with money in your pocket, you’ll not miss them in the year to come.

Step Three - Another good luck custom is to wear something new on New Year’s Eve. You don’t have to buy the entire outfit for the New Year’s Eve Party; it’s enough to have one new item. The proper way to welcome the New Year is by wearing something new.

Step Four - The Dutch are eating donuts on New Year’s Day. They say donuts bring fortune because they have the shape of the ring, which symbolizes the full circle, the year’s cycle. If you don’t want donuts as New Year treat, you can try any ring-shaped food, like onion rings for example.

Step Five - Make sure you have a bell in your proximity, to announce the New Year. It’s a proper way to welcome the New Year and, guess what, it will bring you fortune.

Step Six - Be aware at the first visitor on New Year’s Day! He or she would bring either good luck or bad luck. It is said that if the first person who visit is a tall, dark-haired man, he will bring good luck to the house and hosts.

Step Seven - It’s a very well-known New Year’s custom to make a lot of noise by organizing fireworks, confetti showers and striking crackers on the night between years. This way, it is said that the old year is getting scared and runs away, making room for the new one. So, be noisy on New Year’s Eve, scare away the concluded year and prepare yourself for the beginning of a lucky one!

Another Christmas Over

And we have the mess to show for it!!

It is always fun to open your gifts and to play with your gifts but it is such a pain in the butt to clean everything up. I am not a big housecleaning type anyway so this is not a joyous thing at all.

I have the rest of the year off to enjoy some peace and time with B on his winter break. We will have fun playing with all of the new toys we each got.

Easy breakdown. I got a bunch of scrapbooking stuff that I wanted, E got a bunch of R/C stuff he wanted and B got a bunch of Bakugan stuff that he wanted. Overall, that was successful. The best gifts were the homemade gifts that we had given and received. I made scrapbook calendars for my husband, my mom, my brother and his girlfriend along with making blankets for my husband, my dad and my brothers girlfriend. They all loved them and I was very pleased. I can honestly say that it was worth the blood, sweat and tears that went into each project. My brother made his infamous truffles for all of us and his girlfriend made us each something special. She makes signs that can be displayed. She made one for my son and one for us. She also designed special cups for us that reflect our personalities. They were super cute. I will post some pics when I finally get them up on the computer.

Now on to planning some fun activities for the week and planning for the new year. I have lots and lots of cleaning and organizing to do so this will be a big undertaking but it will be worth it when it is all done.

A Scrappers Night Before Christmas

Now you have to be a scrapbooker to truly get this. But it was way too funny to not post. Thanks Jules for the laugh!!

Twas the night before Christmas, I'm glued to the tree.
I'm wondering what Santa brought just for me.
Could it be cardstock or chipboard or lace?
Or a Cricut, I said, with a smile on my face.
And that's when I heard him,
"Hi Santa, " I said
"You know....good little girls
should be in their beds."
"I know I should Santa,
and now I've got caught.
But I was just so excited
To see what you brought."
"Well, let's take a look
in this room where you work.
He shook his head quickly,
And left with a jerk.
I heard him exclaim
as he put it in gear.
"You've got enough stuff,
I'll see you next year!"

Overwhelmed and Underconfident

Crazy title, huh?

This is all work related. Maybe a little personal but mostly professional.

Anyone who knows me knows that I work hard for what I want. I try to accomplish my goals to the best of my ability. I am so close to one of my goals right now that it is not even funny. And even though it is so close in my grasp it is so far away too.

I have a work contest. I am on track for Leaders Trip. Leaders Trip is to Hawaii. Out of the Consumer Products Specialists I am ranked 45th in the company. That is a huge jump for me considering this time last year I was ranked around 125th. I had a killer November (thanks to new clients) and on top of it I was the highest premium producer on my team. Big big big!!! That is great.

We need a certain amount of points to qualify for trip. I need 750 since I am still a rookie. In fact, I am in 3rd place of rookies!! I currently have 604 points. I am in need of at least 8 more booked life policies before December 30th. I need to have all of my apps in by December 15th. This is more difficult than you can imagine. I am wracking my brain for those whom I know that need life insurance and I am stumped. I need more kids policies than anything else and that is a struggle.

I am so overwhelmed with having to come up with this. Weekends do not exist for me now until the 15th. Good thing there is a cap on when you can call people or my friends would be receiving calls at 11 PM.

I am underconfident but I need to turn around my confidence and very very fast. That is not going to get me on trip and it is to the point where I don't want it, I NEED IT!!! Not only for me but for my husband. For the sanity of my family. For a great 10 year anniversary gift that this can provide to us.

Wish me luck. If you know of anyone who can help me please drop me a line. Thanks!!!
