God is Everywhere.....

This is perhaps the best heading I can give this one today.

Sassygurly and I met for lunch today at Subway. She had her doctors appointment this morning and I wanted to know how everything went. Plus, she had talked to the Wicked Guardian and that conversation had her truly upset.

We ordered our food and sat outside to enjoy the sunshine and to talk. As we were getting into our conversation, one that was completely disturbing, a young woman walked up to us. She was selling books to help pay her way through college. They were not ordinary books. They were religious books.

These books were very interesting to look at but at that moment my focus was not on the books. It was on the girl that was trying to sell them to us. I immediately thought "If she has enough courage to come up to me while I am eating she is definitely Associate material." So while Sassygurly was looking through the books I was doing a mini-presentation to her on the Associate opportunity.

When I was done with my one minute presentation, Sassygurly decided to purchase one of the books that we both had our eye on. The girl gave us her phone number and e-mail address for follow up and was on her way.

After she was gone I looked at Sassygurly. It was then that she told me "God has a way of putting the right people in your path right when you need it and that was the right time. I felt that it was God talking to me through her and had to get the book."

I admire her strength with her faith. I know that she has wonderful belief and an incredible relationship with God.

I know that at that time, that was exactly what she needed. And I am happy about that. But I have to agree. God does put the right people in your path at the right time.

I can only hope that it is the case with my business this month....

Just A Thought.......

I was watching Good Morning America today as I was lounging around and thinking about getting ready for work. They announced on there the quarterly amount that was brought in by the gas companies and focused on Exxon.

The numbers that stuck out in my head was that the company grossed $32 billion in revenue from April to June. Then after paying overhead they still had numerous million that was net. Then they mentioned for every minute, the companies are making $250,000 from gas sales.

My thought....
Quit ripping off the public and invest some of that money back into lowering the cost of gas.

Quit letting us live from paycheck to paycheck just to fill a tank of gas into a car.

Quit it where people drive around with a couple of dollars in the tank just to try to reach a gas station that is less cost so they can fill their tank a little more.

I know. In a perfect world. SIGH!!!!

Good Luck Angelique & Aimee!!

I want to send out Good Luck wishes to:

Angelique Verbarg, Miss Ohio 2006,

Aimee Moser, Miss Teen Ohio 2006

as they compete for the titles of Miss International 2006 and Miss Teen International 2006.

I know that they will represent Ohio well. Can't wait to see the final results of the pageant.

I also want to wish Good Luck to Rebekah Needham, Miss Missouri 2006, as she competes at Miss International as well. She is a sweet girl that I have had the chance to get to know over the summer and she is a great girl.

BEST WISHES AND ENJOY YOUR WEEK!!!!

WHEN I SAY I'M BROKE... I'M BROKE!!!

This was a hoot. I received this from Senora Rosario in Texas where I used to work at. This feels like my day sometimes.

A little old lady answered a knock on the door one day, only to be confronted by a well-dressed young man carrying a vacuum cleaner.
"Good morning," said the young man. "If I could take a couple of minutes of your time, I would like to demonstrate the very latest in high-powered vacuum cleaners."
"Go away!" said the old lady. "I haven't got any money!" and she proceeded to close the door.
Quick as a flash, the young man wedged his foot in the door and pushed wide open. "Don't be too hasty!" he said. "Not until you have at least seen my demonstration." And with that, he emptied a bucket of horse manure onto her hallway carpet.
"If this vacuum cleaner does not remove all traces of this horse manure from your carpet, Madam, I will personally eat the remainder.
The old lady stepped back and said, "Well I hope you've got a darned good appetite, because they cut off my electricity this morning." What part of broke do you not understand?

Weekend Insanity

My weekend was entirely crazy but yet very enjoyable at the same time. Here is a brief synopsis:

Friday Night - We were leaving for our camping trip that E and I were chaperoning. I was to leave work at 5:00PM and wouldn't you know that my 4:00 appointment didn't show up until 4:30!! I was panicked. I knew that we needed to be out and on the road as fast as we could but yet I had been trying to get this gentleman in for two months for a life insurance policy. I thought we were just going to do the life policy and call it a day. I was wrong. They chose this time to add a vehicle on to his policy and the life appointment. E came by to pick me up from work since his car battery died and he was using my car. We did not get out of the office until 6PM!!! Unbelievable. But the policy purchased counted for two policies. So I was not complaining.

We come home and run around trying to do last minute packing. TeTe decides to come over at this time to ask if we want a dog that was found in our neighborhood last weekend. E has been wanting a dog for a long time, especially for B so he definitely said yes. I was a bit heistant due to the fact that we were about to leave for the trip. But since the urgency was there we took him that night. I could not believe it. In a matter of minutes the dog was over and we were trying to adjust while we were still packing. Talk about a crazy moment. I only had a minor meltdown so I was thrilled. By 8:00PM, we were on the road and ready to camp.

We finally got to the campground at 9:30PM. We didn't know if we would have the chance to set up our tent since it was pitch black but we immediately had three teenagers helping E to get the tent up.

Oh yeah, did I mention it was a camp out chaperoning teenagers? Oops, my bad!!

Anyway, we came in and settled down for a bit. The dog was a hit and so was B. So that was a bonus. Little did I know how valuable this was going to be for me. After socializing for a bit we decided to turn in for the night. B was to stay with my parents, who were also chaperones, and after 10 minutes changed his mind and came bck to us. Not long after that, we heard the rain start. GREAT!! Then the thunder and lightening accompanied it. We were in a really nice rainstorm.

I blame E for this as one of the comments he made to me was "Watch this turn out to be like a National Lampoon vacation!"

Saturday - We woke up to teenagers outside our tent grumbling because ALL of their stuff was soaked. Three of the five tents out got completely drenched. The two that had very minor water was ours and my parents. We were cracking up because they were kind of acting sympathetic towards my parents since they had an older tent (23 years old ot be exact) and theirs held up the best. Some of the campers were ready to go home and we told them to hold off. This could pass. And we were right. The rest of the day it only rained everytime we ate a meal. It held off for the rest of the time. We took advantage of the time to go walking, swimming and to the little General Store. It was fun to get away from it all. B had a blast playing sports with the kids and they loved playing with him too. Technically I could have left B with them and he would have been just fine. But I still kept an eye on him. They wore him out so well he fell asleep at dinner and did not wake up until the next morning. That night we had a campfire and a chance to get connected with God. It was a beautiful night for all.

Sunday - we were awoken to the sound of Jules singing to get everyone up. I asked my mom if we could shoot the rooster and she said we could not but we could get it singing lessons. We got everything packed up in record time and ended with prayers and hugs. It was good. Then back to the real world.

We get home to Sassygurly having massive abdominal pains. She has endometriosis and we were panicked that it was back. She could barely move and was just sobbing on the couch. The decision was made to take her to the hospital. So off to St. Ann's we went. Seven hours later we were finally discharged from the hospital with the diagnosis of an Ovarian Cyst Rupture. She got some medication and we headed out to get back to the family. Then the pain set back in for her. It increased in intensity and we had to take her back to the ER.

The ER was very crowded but luckily they could see her pain and got her back very fast. The doctor offered to give her more pain meds through an IV or a series of shots. She chose to take the IV again. She had a problem with the IV to start with so I was praying they could get the IV on the first try. They did three attempts earlier that day and it was hard. They were able to get it the first time round and gave her what they called the Kidney Stone Cocktail. A short while later she was zoned. It was hysterical. She was feeling no pain and she had no clue what she was doing. I had to give her a recap and it was funny.

We got home at 3:00 AM and the dog decided that would be a great time to get up and wanted to go outside. So I was up and moving. I got to bed at about 4:00AM.

I went to work on less than three hours of sleep. I can't figure out what it was that pulled me through but heck, I do not care. I made it.

The week has already started out crazy. But I will blog later on that.

Night to all.....

Don't Close The Blinds

My good friend, BuckeyeNut, passed this along to me. It can be very visual if you let it. But it helps to break it down in childrens terms.

Don't Close Your Blinds

The other day, my nine year old son wanted to know why we were at war ..My husband looked at our son and then looked at me. My husband and I were in the Army during the Gulf War and we would be honored to serve and defend
our Country again today. I knew that my husband would give him a good explanation. My husband thought for a few minutes and then told my son to go stand in our front living room window.

He said "Son, stand there and tell me what you see?"

"I see trees and cars and our neighbor's houses." he replied.

"OK, now I want you to pretend that our house and our yard is the United States of America and you are President Bush."

Our son giggled and said "OK."

"Now son, I want you to look! out the window and pretend that every house and yard on this block is a different country" my husband said.

"OK Dad, I'm pretending."

"Now I want you to stand there and look out the window and pretend you see Saddam come out of his house with his wife, he has her by the hair and is hitting her. You see her bleeding and crying. He hits her in the face, he throws her on the ground, then he starts to kick her to death . Their children run out and are afraid to stop him, they are screaming and crying, they are watching this but do nothing because they are kids and they are afraid of their father. You see all of this, son....what do you do?"

"Dad?"

" What do you do son?"

"I'd call the police, Dad."

"OK. Pretend that the police are the United Nations. They take your call. They listen to what you know and saw but they refuse to ! help. What do you do then son?"

"Dad.......... but the police are supposed to help!" My son starts to whine.

"They don't want to son, because they say that it is not their place or your place to get involved and that you should stay out of it," my husband says.

"But Dad...he killed her!!" my son exclaims.

"I know he did...but the police tell you to stay out of it. Now I want you to look out that window and pretend you see our neighbor who you're pretending is Saddam turn around and do the same thing to his children."

"Daddy...he kills them?"

"Yes son, he does. What do you do?"

"Well, if the police don't want to help, I will go and ask my next door neighbor to help me stop him." our son says.

"Son, our next door neighbor sees what is happening and refuses to get involved as well. He refuses to open the door and help you stop him," my husband says.

"But Dad, I NEED help!!! I can't stop him by myself!!"

"WHAT DO YOU DO SON?" Our son starts to cry.

"OK, no one wants to help you, the man across the street saw you ask for help and saw that no one would help you stop him. He stands taller and puffs out his chest. Guess what he does next son?"

"What Daddy?"

"He walks across the street to the old ladies house and breaks down her door and drags her out, steals all her stuff and sets her house on fire and then...he kills her. He turns around and sees you standing in the window
and laughs at you. WHAT DO YOU DO?"

"Daddy..."

"WHAT DO YOU DO?" Our son is crying and he looks down and he whispers, "I'd close the blinds, Daddy."

My husband looks at our son with tears in his eyes and asks him. "Why?"

"Because Daddy.....the police are supposed to help people who needs them...and they won't help.... You always say that neighbors are supposed to HELP neighbors, but they won't help either...they won't help me stop him...I'm afraid....I can't do it by myself Daddy.....I can't look out my window and just watch him do all these terrible things and...and.....do nothing...so....I'm just going to close the blinds.... so I can't see what he's doing.........and I'm going to pretend that it is not happening."

I start to cry. My husband looks at our nine year old son standing in the window, looking pitiful and ashamed at his answers to my husband's questions and he says...

"Son"

"Yes, Daddy."

"Open the blinds because that man.... he's at your front door... "WHAT DO YOU DO?"

My son looks at his father, anger and defiance in his eyes. He balls up his tiny fists and looks his father square in the eyes, without hesitation he says: " I DEFEND MY FAMILY! DAD!! I'M NOT GONNA LET HIM HURT MOMMY OR MY SISTER, DAD!!! I'M GONNA FIGHT HIM, DAD, I'M GONNA FIGHT HIM!!!!!"

I see a tear roll down my husband's cheek and he grabs our son to his chest and hugs him tight, and says.... " It's too late to fight him, he's too strong and he's already at YOUR front door son.....you should have stopped him BEFORE he killed his wife, and his children and the old lady across the way. You have to do what's right, even if you have to do it alone, before its too late." my husband whispers. THAT scenario I just gave you is WHY we are at war with Iraq. When good men stand by and let evil happen son, THAT is the greatest atrocity in the world. "YOU MUST NEVER BE AFRAID TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO DO IT ALONE!" BE PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN! BE PROUD OF OUR TROOPS!! SUPPORT THEM!!! SUPPORT AMERICA SO THAT IN THE FUTURE
OUR CHILDREN WILL NEVE! R HAVE TO CLOSE THEIR BLINDS..."

This should be printed in every newspaper and posted in every school in America. Of course that won't happen so we'll use the internet. Are your blinds closed? or Are your blinds open? I do not need to tell you what to do.

GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!!

Furniture, Furniture and More Furniture

This month has felt like a spree for furniture shopping.

It all started when Sassygurly came to live with us. We knew that she would need furniture to live with us. She was staying temporarily in our office and sleeping on a futon. That was not enough. She needed her own bed and her own dressers for her room.

While we were in Cleveland, the church that my mom works at was having a Rummage Sale. Mom had told me that they had a bedroom suite but she was uncertain of the cost. We agreed to look at it along with everything else they had. We went two days after the sale and saw the bedroom set. Since the parish was aware of our situation they offered to donate the bedroom set free of charge. Which was extremely sweet of them. Along with that, we picked up two cribs (the last time we went crib shopping we got pregnant. Consider it wishful thinking.), an end table and some other odds and ends. We ended up having to rent a U-Haul to get everything back.

This weekend we found the ultimate bed. We have been looking for a bunk bed set with the top being a twin bed and the bottom bunk being a futon. We were searching www.craigslist.org and found the right set for us. It was an OSU futon with OSU pillows. We contacted the family and they got back to us. It was still available and we could pick it up today. So, with the use of a borrowed truck (thanks again Mamaw!!) we went and picked it up. It is in great condition. I guess the little boy that had it really did not like it. B saw it and immediately loved it! E wanted to keep it in the office but I think B will win this argument.

I think we can honestly say that we have more than enough furniture. Well, maybe not. We can use a new bedroom set ourselves.....

Battle of the PMS

This has been an interesting past couple of days. Sassygurly and I have only been living in the same house for two weeks and somehow our cycles have coordinated. We have been an absolute joy to deal with. Yeah right!!!

All we have both been doing is snipping at everyone around us. I feel sorry for E but since he is getting on my nerves I don't feel too horrible. B has been decent but his unwillingness to listen has not bode well with me either.

My clients have been decent but there has been some stupidity. One in particular has been driving me absolutely batty. But the best part of this week has been my ability to sell two health policies. Hopefully I can pull off eight more before the end of the month so I can get a bigger bonus. And some more life insurance policies would be helpful too!!

Sassygurly has had quite an interesting few days too. She works in Customer Service and customers have been getting on her nerves too. Yesterday she told off her mothers boyfriend. That thrilled me as he can be very degrading to her. Something she should not have to deal with. And she is learning to stand up for herself a little bit more. So that is a great accomplishment for her.

Off to finish off more of a Frozen Coke. The chocolate is also beckoning me too.....

Busy Busy Day

Whew!! It has been a whirlwind of a day.

It started with an early morning doctors appointment. It was time for the necessary evil to take place. I hate it that it has to happen but yet I have an AWESOME doctor. We spent the time talking about four year olds (his wife had their baby the day before we had ours) and USANA. He is the first doctor that I have dealt with that has been open and receptive to USANA and I am very appreciative of that. I gave him some info and told him that when I come back in three months he better have done his homework and studied the info that I gave him. He laughed but I know he will. He is great like that. He also gave me a prescription for Clomid. So hopefully I will be able to become pregnant next month. I was also thrilled to meet a volleyball coach in the lobby and talked USANA with her. She was pleased because the head coach had just said that he thought that the players were not taking very good care of themselves and wanted someone to come in and talk about nutrition with them. It could have been a blessing in disguise.

Went back to the office and talked with my bosses wife. Got some stuff started and headed out shortly afterwards to meet Flexigirl for lunch. Salad and good conversation. It was very good. We are meeting Saturday for a scrapbooking date and I am really looking forward to it.

Came back to the office and was told by my boss that I was going to be getting some good commission off of my life sales from last month. YEAH!!! I could use that about now. I still have a good pile of stuff on my desk but by tomorrow I will resume with my normal phone calls. Hopefully I can get a lot cleared off my desk by tomorrow morning. I am tired of the pile and it needs to go away!!!! So either stuff has to close or it has to find its way to the rectangular filing cabinet.

Tuesdays usually drag in the evenings but tonight I had two appointments. Both very positive and looking at IRA's. Not too shabby. I hope to close them before the end of this month. My goal is for 5-10 life apps or annuities per month. I know it can be done.

Off to get my baby and have a good date with him at Panera. I got coupons for a free dinner there tonight. So we can have a great date. Both E and CE (Who I am renaming Sassygurly) are working tonight so I will see them later. Sassygurly was thrilled last night. We had gotten a bed from our neighbors and we had it set up and made last night. She was so comfortable in it she slept until 11:15 AM!! Good for her as she needed the sleep.

Off to get the munchkins. See ya later!!

Life's A Beach!!

Today we went on a family outing to Alum Creek Beach. I had told E that I had wanted to go to the beach for a while. We haven't gone to a beach here in Ohio for as long as E and I have been together. And I really want B to adapt to the water. I do not want him to be afraid of the water and this is one of the best ways I could guarantee it.

So we pack up the Expedition with me, E, B and our new adopt-a-teen that we shall call CE. Yes, we have a TEENAGER that lives with us. But it is all good and has been wonderful for B. He loves her to pieces and having her around has been a complete blessing.

Sorry. Went on a tangent!!!

We spent the afternoon playing in the water and teaching B how to go under the water, how to float and learning limitations in the water. It is awesome to see his confidence grow while he was in the water.

I am now very sunburnt. Thank goodness for Aloe Vera! But all in all it was worth it.

Here is a photo of CE & I from this afternoon. Isn't she a cutie!!!

After the beach we went to get some Frozen Coke love at Speedway. It is a complete addiction. Then picked up some dinner and headed home. Got on to a MasterMind call for our business and now about to turn in for the night.

Going to the doctor this week. Hopefully we will find out if we are pregnant or if we are going on Clomid. I am hoping for the best. But you never know....

Goodnight all!!

Dog Attempts Suicude

My poor brother has the worst luck in the world.

He came home on Friday evening and was asked by my father why he left the dog out all day while he was at work. He was confused and went to the backyard. There was his dog hobbling on his left side and tied up on his chain. He could not figure out what was going on. He had left the dog in his bedroom when he left for work....

Then it occured to him to look up. He checks out his bedroom window and saw that his screen was ripped where the dog jumped out from. He groaned and went over to the dog. The dog would not let him touch his paw. He realized that he most likely broke his front leg. He scooped up the dog and, with my mom, took him to the vet.

His front leg is wrapped up in a cast. He was already having problems with hip displascia on his back leg. And the dog was drugged up very nicely.

He really cannot win for losing sometimes. I feel so bad for him at times.
