Frustration

Today has been a very frustrating day. Wait, let me take that back. It has been a frustrating month.

I am at the end of the month. In my field, that is figuring out what was sold and how much was sold. Usually to see how close or far away we are from a trip, reward, etc.

This month I captured 8 auto policies, 14 fire policies, 0 life policies, 2 health policies and one CD. So a total of 25 apps. Not bad on a normal basis. In fact, for me being the ONLY person in the office working on apps that is not terrible at all.

What is terrible is when the boss is irritated because there is no life on the board. And the simple fact that he contributed to exactly 1/2 of a health policy does not help me have good thoughts about him at the moment.

Honestly, I could not sell any life this month if someone gave me the money and signed the app. It was really that bad.

I can make a ton of excuses but it is not happening. I can blame this all on the last month of summer, people away on vacation, school starting and anything else I want. But the truth is, it was just not happening this month. And there will be months like that.

For me, it is important for people to review their policies. Make sure they understand their coverage and know if they are insured adequately (which most are not) or inadequately (majority of public). To Joe Public, it is not high on their list of priorities. But then something happens and when they are not covered properly they blame me.

So I ask this of you. Take the time to meet with your Insurance Agent once a year to make sure you understand your policies and to make sure that you and your family are well taken care of. If you want me to review your policies for you, I will. It is not an inconvenience.

Thank you for listening.

Lack of Concentration

Don't you ever hate the days that you cannot concentrate?? I am having one of those days.

I am not sure if it is from being tired or it is just my mind cannot settle on one task or one thought.

Not good....

Has It Really Been One Week

I just realized it has been one week since I have posted on my blog. Things have been moving at a relatively fast pace the past few days and I am finally catching up.

But here are some of my highlights from the past week:

Wednesday - B and I had dentist appointments. It was his first dentist appointment and he did wonderful. There were no cavities and the staff was great. This is a new dentist that we went to and I am very pleased. Their patience was well appreciated and I adore the business reminder cards. His name is Dr. Miller and the card phrase is "It's Miller Time." Way too fun!!

Friday - had a presentation at the house. Went well and I am hoping to sign her on soon. She works insane hours at a local pizza place and deserves to work a lot less.

Saturday - we got our "H" car as B puts it. My mom has wanted a new Honda CR-V and wanted us to have hers. So after much busy work to get loan paperwork moving we were approved and heading up to Cleveland to get our new CR-V. Then went to the dealership with Mom to get her a new CR-V. They gave her the hook-up with a plush CR-V. The funniest part of the day was this. She did get a free 24" TV set for purchasing her car and after much flirting, they gave me a free TV also. And I didn't even buy a car from there!!! Great use of my assets, I guess...

And that is about the most highlight of exciting stuff that has happened. Sure there are other things going on but don't want to bore you too badly.

So You Think You Know Everything?!?!!?

Catwoman sent this to me. Thought I would share it with you!!

SO YOU THINK YOU KNOW EVERYTHING?

"Stewardesses" is the longest word typed with only the left hand and "lollipop" with your right. (Bet you tried this out mentally, didn't you?)

Maine is the only state whose name is just one syllable. (I'll bet you're going to check this out.)

No word in the English language rhymes with month, orange, silver, or purple.

"Dreamt" is the only English word that ends in the letters "mt". (Do you doubt this?)

Our eyes are always the same size from birth, but our nose and ears never stop growing.

The sentence: "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" uses every letter of the alphabet. ( Now, you KNOW you're going to try this out for accuracy, right?)

The words 'racecar,' 'kayak' and 'level' are the same whether they are read left to right or right to left (palindromes)

(Yep, I knew you were going to "do" this one.)

There are only four words in the English language which end in "dous": tremendous, horrendous, stupendous, and hazardous.

(You're not doubting this, are you?)

There are two words in the English language that have all five vowels in order: "abstemious" and "facetious." (Yes, admit it you are going to say.... aeiou!)

TYPEWRITER is the longest word that can be made using the letters only on one row of the keyboard. (All you typists are going to test this out)

All 50 states are listed across the top of the Lincoln Memorial on the back of the $5 bill.

A dime has 118 ridges around the edge.

A cat has 32 muscles in each ear.

A goldfish has a memory span of three seconds. (Some days .... that's about what my memory span is!!!)

A "jiffy" is an actual unit of time for 1/100th of a second.

A shark is the only fish that can blink with both eyes.

A snail can sleep for three years. (I know some people that could do this too.)

Al Capone's business card said he was a used furniture dealer.

Almonds are a member of the peach family.

An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain.

Babies are born without kneecaps. They don't appear until the child reaches 2 to 6 years of age.

February 1865 is the only month in recorded history not to have a full moon.

In the last 4,000 years, no new animals have been domesticated.

If the population of China walked past you, 8 abreast, the line would never end because of the rate of reproduction.

If you are an average American, in your whole life, you will spend an average of 6 months waiting at red lights.

Leonardo Da Vinci invented the scissors.

On a Canadian two dollar bill, the flag flying over the Parliament building is an American flag.

Peanuts are one of the ingredients of dynamite!

Rubber bands last longer when refrigerated.

The average person's left hand does 56% of the typing.

The cruise liner, QE2, moves only six inches for each gallon of diesel that it burns.

The microwave was invented after a researcher walked by a radar tube and a chocolate bar melted in his pocket.

The winter of 1932 was so cold that Niagara Falls froze completely solid.

There are more chickens than people in the world.

Winston Churchill was born in a ladies' room during a dance.

Women blink nearly twice as much as men.

I Got My Star!!!

This has been the ultimate joke since yesterday.

At B's sitters house there was a list of supplies that they need for the next few months. Since they are conducting pre-school with the four little ones who will be entering Kindergarten the following year I feel that what they are asking is VERY fair considering what the schools ask for.

Now I am usually the first one to supply whenever they need anything. I was surprised when I came in and there was the name of two other parents in their very own star to thank them for the supplies. I came back and metioned it to TT and Lolo. They laughed at me because they then knew it was on. I wanted my star too, darn it!!!

So E and I met for lunch and following lunch we hit the store. We picked up four of the items on the list and I brought them over after work. I made a point to put them on the counter individually and then demand my star!!!

They cracked up laughing but went into the other room and got my star. They had it ready since that afternoon because they just knew that after work I would bring some of the items to them. I am just crazy that way.

We had the choice between giving them $5 to purchase the supplies or purchasing some of the items ourselves. And to be honest with you, I rather purchase some of the items on the list. It makes it more personal and I know that it is far more appreciated as that is less running around that they have to do.

Dinner and Conversation

Last night we went to dinner at The Melting Pot. For those of you who do not know what it is, it is a fabulous fondue restaurant that is our once a year treat.

We were taken out by a person who has a potential opportunity for me. And they must really be interested in me to offer to pay at The Melting Pot as it is not cheap!!!

It was this persons first time going there and I believe that he enjoyed the experience. So that is always good.

We took time to discuss the opportunity and it is looking very promising for me. It has a lot of potential but I will have to work my butt off.

I just hope that if this is the path I am to take that I will be able to do it and do it successfully. Keep a good thought out for me!!!

Important: Bill Enclosed

I just love how companies put this title on the outside of the envelope of their bills. My question is "Who is this important to???" Because it sure to heck isn't me.

And if you would love a special kind of stupid, check out Columbia Gas of Ohio. They have fallen into this category today and here is why.

Last Friday I got a check from them for $30.03. Then yesterday I got my bill from them and it was much higher than usual. Why you ask? Because it was short $30.03!!!

HELLO PEOPLE!!!! Have we not a brain in that Corporate America head of yours!!

Had to vent. Because otherwise I would lose my everloving mind!!

A Weekend To Remember

This weekend is a weekend worth blogging about.

We had decided a few weeks ago we were going to visit my best friend from college at her home in New Philadelphia. Shan and I go way back with our friendship. I met her in College Orientation class and we just clicked. We graduated in the same summer session and she was the valedictorian. I was tickled that I was one of the people she thanked in her speech on stage in front of the entire graduating class. What an honor!! I was her Maid of Honor in her wedding and she was my Matron of Honor in mine. So we can definitely say that we have a great friendship.

I experienced a lot of firsts with her and her family this weekend. That may not sound like it is possible but it really is.

The first was horseback riding. I have NEVER ridden a horse in my life and she has been riding them for 15 years of her life. I have honestly told her from the get go that we were City Mouse/Country Mouse. At first it was scary for me and I felt like I had absolutely no control. Which is very hard for an OCD personality. But once we headed out for the trail ride it was fine. She even laughed and said that I had on a beauty pageant face but my voice was giving away my fear. That cracked me up and relaxed me even more. We got some good talking done on the trail and by the end of the ride I was very content. It felt good to feel the air and sunshine on my face.

While we were out riding, B was riding a pony! It was his first pony ride and he was loving it. The pony belongs to their son Joey and his name is Honey. It has to be the fattest pony I have ever seen in my life!! Their daughter, Cam, was having issues w/the kids riding the pony and her not on their too. She was too funny. E took pictures and I have yet to download them. But I will post them soon.

The two couples went out for dinner and left the kids with a sitter. It was nice to have that quality adult time. We went to Ravens Wolf Winery and had a ball. I am not a big wine drinker but did partake in a wine tasting. Something I have never done. Shan and I agreed that the best wine was a Blackberry Wine. I liked it so much I bought a bottle. We had a great view out the window and just relaxed and enjoyed each others company.

We ended up leaving early the next morning to get back and get some stuff taken care of. We are converting our dining room into an office and had to get paint and curtains. E and I had a hard time on agreeing on what we liked but in the end we finally agreed and now we have to start work on the new office.

That evening, we decided to go bowling. So E, B, Sassygurly and I headed up to Palace Lanes and played a few games. B is really good at bowling and we were cracking up laughing at him for how he was throwing the ball. He and E are going to do a Superman Bowling League this fall. That will be fun for the two of them.

All in all, a good weekend was had.

You Know You Are A Pageant Girl When....

I found this on Kara Roberts blog and although I have posted something like this in the past, this one has more on it than the other one.

U KNOW you are a PAGEANT GIRL when.....

-You have ever sprayed your butt with glue.

-You no longer have feeling in your little and big
toes.

-You know how to instantly create cleavage in more
than 5 ways.

-USA and America mean two TOTALLY different
things.

-It's not good enough if a dress JUST 'fits'.

-You know what 'pageant stance' is.

-You are able to change your outfit, hair, makeup
AND shoes in under 2 minutes.

-You don't see a problem with dancing in 4 inch
heels on stage in front of hundreds of people.

-You no longer cringe at the sound of cheezy
music.

-You find yourself smiling in your sleep.

-You listen to the news, read the paper and keep
up with court rulings only because it might be a
question some day.

-You actually HAVE used a whole can of hairspray
in one sitting before.. and then sent your mom to
get a second... which you used also.

-You have been asked by more than a handfull of
people, "So, do you girls REALLY say world peace?"

-You might as well just start sleeping at BLK.

-You have come to accept the fact that glitter is
your friend.

-You somehow keep running into the SAME group
of girls year after year.

-You know "your colors."

-You remember a girl in this order: color of her
dress, style of her hair, her photographer, her
picture, her earrings, her wonderful/ terrible 'walk',
her city name, her mom's name... her name.

-Your hair practically teases itself by now.

-Every question you answer these days seems to
have 3 parts to it.

-You have used tape on more than one body part.

-You have more pictures of girls standing in a line
with your arms behind each other's lower back than
you know what to do with.

-You will spend thousands of dollars and endless
hours preparing for a chance to fight for a piece of
metal that sparkles.

Long Restless Night

Poor Sassygurly!!!

She had another bad night with her endometriosis. This has been the second attack she has had since moving in with us a month and a half ago.

She was supposed to work last night at the club and they informed her when she arrived that she has been moved to Wednesday nights. So she came home to relax, update her blog and spend time with our family. About 10 PM the attack came on. And it had her up majority of the night.

Unfortunately there is not a lot that can be done when this happens. Every drug they have given her she ends up throwing back up. Which is not helping her digestive track.

She is currently at the ER with her friend Britt. She was kind enough to come over and take her there. And to not take no for an answer from her!!!

I have been in contact by phone with Britt and they have her on some great drugs. Another cat scan is in order. Hopefully she will be released soon.

And the bad thing? I am at work until 7PM tonight. Not a whole lot that can be done from here.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!!!

A Beautiful Gift

E and I have been given a beautiful gift last night.

No, it does not sparkle
No, it is not tangible
No, it is not big (yet)

It was given to us by Mrs. Int'l 1999. Our main person who got us involved in USANA.

What is it you ask?!?!?!

Mrs. Int'l has reached a rank in which she earned a re-entry of a Business Center and can place it under one person on either side of her downline. She can be strategic and place it where ever it will best benefit her. Or where she feels someone who deserves it can benefit most from it.

And she chose us to place it under.

This is a true gift because by doing this, she is letting us know that she believes in us enough to build her side even more. To become successful and to give a little nudge to us.

And we are blessed.

After last week it was definitely something we needed. Last week was very rough physically and emotionally and this was a perfect pick-me-up.

It is definitely something we cannot take for granted. We will have to work hard to achieve our goals to not only help us grow but to help her grow too. But it will be worth it to watch it grow.

Let's Say Thanks!!

I got this e-mail from Mrs. Bedford this morning and did it. She has a son that was sent to Iraq so she knows what these soldiers need. I admire her efforts to keep the focus on making the soldiers feel important while they are in Iraq.

And they are cute, so enjoy!!!

The Xerox Corporation is sponsoring a wonderful project supporting our soldiers. By going to http://www.letssaythanks.com/ you can select a card drawn by a child. Xerox will print it out and it will be sent to a soldier currently serving overseas. This is free.

Go do it!!
