Dogs Do Talk

I swear, this came out of my kids mouth this morning.

It was an interesting conversation. Went a little something like this.

B - Mommy, Lolo's dog threw up yesterday on the floor.
Me - Really? Did she get the dog to leave the room.
B - She tried. But we do not throw up on the floor.
Me - Where do we throw up at.
B - The toilet.
Me - That is right. We throw up in the toilet. (Am I really having this conversation with a 4 year old?)
B - When Lolo's dog learns how to talk, he can tell us when he has to throw up and he can then go to the toilet.
Me - Dogs don't know how to talk. They just bark.
B - No Mommy, they do talk. I know that when they get bigger they learn how to talk.
Me - Name three dogs for me that can talk.
B - Mommy, didn't you see Fox and the Hound? When they got bigger they learned how to talk.

I lost it. That was hysterical. The logical mind of a child is simply incredible.

It was not until later that morning that he pieced together that dogs can talk to each other and not to humans. They only bark to humans. And he got that from watching Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Hope that brightened your day as much as it did mine.

More Dreams to Decifer

This one is a heck of a dream.

I had a dream that I had to give a speech about Eating Disorders and USANA and I was being featured as a guest speaker using my Mrs. Ohio title. But I was not in my regular clothes. I was wrapped up in a blanket.

Here is what dreammoods.com had to say about it:

Speech
To give a speech in your dream, indicates that you need to vocalize your feelings and thoughts. You need to communicate something important and/or urgent. Alternatively, it may highlight your fear and nervousness of speaking in public.

To hear a speech in your dream, suggests that your inner feelings are being made conscious to those around you. Consider what is said in the speech. If you hear a politician give a speech, then it represents egotism and deceit.

Blanket
To see a blanket in your dream, symbolizes warmth, love, security and protection. You may be seeking for some form of shelter from the outside world. Consider also how your dream may be calling attention to a "cover-up" in some situation or circumstance in your waking life.

To dream that you are wrapped in a blanket, indicates your fear of the unknown. You may feel some sort of threat/chaos or sense some coldness from those around you.

To dream that you are covering or wrapping someone in a blanket, suggests you desire to care for that person.

I believe this may have to do with my anxiety to grow our USANA business. We need more appointments but I have been unable to get them.

First thing, schedule more appointments this week. I have my goals and I want them achieved!!!

Birthdays and BBQ's

This weekend was quite a fun weekend for our family.

Last week was crazy with scrambling around for promotional tickets to the Disney Pixar Cars movie. State Farm is a major sponsor of the movie and we are trying to get free tickets by doing a bunch of contests. Well, low and behold we were successful!! B and I are going to a sneak preview on the 3rd of June (release date is June 9th) and we are going to the one sponsored by State Farm on the 10th of June. That will have extra special bonus stuff for all State Farm employees, agents and agent staff. I can hardly wait....

Back to the title. We left Saturday afternoon for my parents house in Bedford and embarked on our long weekend. It has been awhile since we had a nice long weekend and I was ready to go. We got there around dinnertime and did a little BBQ that night. After dinner we took the kids to the park on their bicycles. They had a blast and it wore them out. That was the best part.

Sunday was two very special birthdays. My brother turned 27 and my dad has gone 6 years since his heart attack. For my dad, that was a total re-birth and we celebrate it as we do a normal birthday. He had a massive heart attack on my brothers 21st birthday and they even lost him on the table. But God wanted him with us more so they were able to get him back. For the birthdays, my mom, brother, LoLi, B and I went to see Over The Hedge and my dad and E went golfing, watched the Indy 500 and hooked up the electric in the garage. And they both loved their birthday celebrations. We did another BBQ and had ice cream cake along with presents.

Monday was extremely relaxing. We watched movies during the hottest heat, scrapbooked and had more BBQ. Afterwards, we took B to the park on his bike again and wore him out for our drive back to Columbus.

I think I am BBQed out!!!

The Barbie Doll Factor

I am my husbands very own Barbie doll.

I say this after the incredible weekend we spent together. We had a weekend date as my mom and dad took custody of B for the weekend. So they got to enjoy each other as much as we got to enjoy our time alone together.

E made a conscious effort to make the weekend all about me. I don't know why but I will not even bother to ask. I am just grateful that he loves me enough to do something like that for me every once in a while.

Friday night we got together with dear friends of ours that we have known for years. They own a mattress store in Mansfield and we have not been there yet. They also have a used furniture store that is full of very nice treasures. We had fun poking around in there and seeing what they had. If you want the info on the place for your next mattress or furniture purchase, drop me a line. I am more than happy to share the info.

We went to O'Charley's with them and then E helped them with some computer stuff. Before we knew it, it was 1 AM. Definitely time to head back as we were leaving early for the pageant that morning.

We got up at 6 AM and got things together to go. We finally left at 7:30 AM and got to Sylvania at 9:30 AM. After applying my make-up in the car (after I realized halfway there that I forgot to put make-up on) we arrived at the hotel. And I had a Cheers moment. We walked into the hotel and a few people in the front of the hotel waiting area turned and shouted out my name. I was embraced in hugs and well wishes in a matter of seconds and it did not end for at least an hour. It felt abssolutely wonderful!!!

After the hotel we went to the theatre to catch up with friends there and meet the contestants. It was great to see their excitement for what they were doing. It was refreshing. Then it came time for lunch and E and I headed out. We made an afternoon shopping date. There is where the Barbie Doll Factor fits in.

We went to the mall and looked for an evening dress for the pageant. I had brought one but if I found one that was nicer I was going to buy it if the price was right. But alas, it was not. So I stayed with the same outfit. But we did go to Express and E had a blast finding clothes for me and dressing me up. After all was said and done I had a new pair of jeans, two new tank tops and new shoes. He loves dressing me up!!!

We came back and got ready for the evening. We left for the restaurant and to my surprise it was not what I expected. It was a bar that served food. Not even like an Applebees. Just a bar. I was ready to go elsewhere but since we were meeting friends for dinner we stayed put. Plus, at that time all the other restaurants would be crowded anyways. We met with the Castle's for dinner and then headed to the theatre.

It was definitely different being in the audience this year. I had spent the past two years on that stage and then to go to sitting in the audience was an adjustment. We sat next to Mrs. Ohio 1999 and her family. Her daughter was competing in the Teen portion and that had Mrs. Ohio 1999 on her toes all night long!!! She was definitely nervous for her daughter. We had fun watching the first portion of the pageant together. Then it was on to the stage!!!

Every year all visiting titleholders that held the title of Mrs. Ohio gets to be introduced and have her walk on the stage. It is sad but I really look forward to this every year. It is a major highlight for me. After a good number of formers it was my turn to walk the stage.

It was incredible to walk and meet E in the center of the stage. He looked very handsome in his tuxedo and I know that he completely understands why this is so important to me. And that makes him all the more attractive. I got my half a minute on the little platform and went to rejoin the others. And I was happy to be there. I was home.

We went back to watch the rest of the competition. And when we returned, Mrs. Ohio 1999 and her family were gone. I knew that she and the rest of her family got split up and I wasn't certain if she just went to rejoin them or if I had bugged her and driven her away. Since it seems that I have stepped on a number of toes recently I went up to her after the competition and apologized if I had bugged her so much that she decided to move. All she did was start cracking up laughing and told me that it was definitely not my fault that she moved. She just wanted to join the rest of her family. I felt better.

Then it was time for the titleholder picture. Every year, all of the Mrs. Ohio's gather for a photo with the newest Mrs. Ohio. It is like bringing them into a family and I absolutely cherish the photo from my year. It is a prized possession. At that time, I got to speak with the newest Mrs. Ohio and fell in love with her. She is so sweet and geniune. We did our photos and then the husbands were asked to join in. That surprised E but he joined the picture. I hope to get a copy of the photo. I will have to ask my director if I can purchase a copy.

We left and hung out with the Castle's for a bit longer then hit the sack. The next morning we were up and down for breakfast. We got to hang out with some more of our friends and former titleholders. We have agreed that we need to have a reunion of some sort but someone has to organize it. I think that I will take on that task. It would be fun to have a girls slumber party somewhere and I am happy to get that done.

After breakfast we left to get back into town for our USANA meeting. We got back way too fast and needed to kill some time before we went to the meeting. So we went to Wal-Mart. And E was back to the Barbie Doll Factor. He was hitting all of the sales racks and found some cute stuff for me. I was sent to the dressing room and had to try on a bunch of clothes. We ended up with two pair of jeans (at $7 a piece, you cannot pass that up), a pair of jean shorts and three cute tops. And also about 6 pairs of sexy underwear that had rhinestones on them. Since he was the one who was picking out the clothes and being good that was his treat.

I will admit, I felt guilty. I needed new clothes but I always feel guilty when I get something for me. I think it is the mother role in me that always wants to take care of everyone else that I leave myself behind a lot of times. And E woudl not allow that this weekend.

After our meeting it was back to Mansfield to go collect our child. He was actually happy to see us and we took him to dinner. He was very well behaved and we realized how much we really missed him. So much that we let him sleep in our room that night. That was one crowded room with the three of us and the cat too.

All in all, a great weekend was had. And it was well deserved. I feel happy and content now and that was in need.

33. The reason a witness raises the right hand to take the oath is because in days of old convicted felons were branded with an "F" on the

Results from Ohio Pageants

This weekends pageant was just absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed being around the contestants, the volunteers and the past royalty. It felt good to come home to my pageant family again.

I wanted to give a quick update on the results. I forgot to buy a program book earlier in the evening so I will give the titleholder information:

Miss Teen Ohio - Amiee Moser, Miss Teen Defiance
Miss Ohio - Angelique Vernaq, Miss Cincinnati
Mrs. Ohio - Cay Stouts, Mrs. Toledo

All of the contestants did a phenomenal job and need to be commended. I think there will be some VERY strong competitors from Ohio at Miss Teen International, Miss International and Mrs. International.

Congratulations Amiee, Angelique and Cay!!!! You will have an amazing year. Remember to make the most of your year as it goes by very fast!!!!

The Husband Store

I believe I may have posted this once before but you may have it again to enjoy.

Have a great Friday!!!

New Husband Store

A store that sells new husbands has just opened in New York City, where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is
a description of how the store operates:

You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the value of the products increase as the shopper ascends the flights. The shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building!

So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. On the first floor the sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These men Have Jobs.

The second floor sign reads: Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids.

The third floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, and are Extremely Good Looking. "Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and sign reads: Floor 4 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking and Help with Housework.

"Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!" Still, she goes to the fifth floor and sign reads: Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help with Housework, and Have a Strong Romantic Streak.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor and the sign reads: Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.

To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opened a New Wives store just across the street.

The first floor has wives that love sex.

The second floor has wives that love sex and have money.

The third through sixth floors have never been visited.

Kidney Infection. OW!!!

Sorry I have been out of it for a bit. I have a kidney infection and it finally took me down.

You know it is bad when you can't walk more than 10 feet without needing to stop and sit down. I decided to take the day off and rest to get myself in shape for this weekend.

This weekend will be a very jam packed and enjoyable one for us. Friday, B will go to Grandma & Grandpa's for the weekend. They are completely overjoyed by this. And I know that he will love spending the time with them and with his cousin.

Then E and I are on our way to Toledo for the Mrs. Ohio, Miss Ohio and Miss Teen Ohio pageant. This will be a joy for us to watch but it will be weird sitting in the audience this time. I have been on the stage for two years with Mrs. Ohio so to sit in the audience will be different. We have VIP seating and I get to have E escort me across the stage in the Parade of Titleholders. So this will be a treat. E is especially happy since his tuxedo fits well now. He has lost a total so far of 18 pounds in less than two weeks. I am very happy for him.

Then Sunday is our first USANA team meeting as Associates. We are doing a brainstorming/marketing session and I get to do a lot of contribution towards it because of my marketing background. After that it is off to pick up B and get ready for the next week.

Hopefully I will be back to 100% by tomorrow. I hate when something like this pulls me down.

E's Last Day of Reset

And the finale. A total weight loss of 15 pounds and we don't even know how many inches!!!

We got to the last day. And His Royal Crankiness is still alive. And 15 pounds lighter. It is great!!

Last Day Intake Recap:

Morning Shake - boring vanilla. He is thrilled that he no longer needs to drink the vanilla. That is how much he could not stand it.

Got to work and found the shipment for the chocolate and strawberry shakes and the bars for the next two weeks. He was happy to see that.

Morning Snack - Peanut Butter Bar. No accolades or anything on that. Since the past few days have been hectic at work I have not heard anything back about his thoughts on anything.

Afternoon Shake - Chocolate. Still no big ta-da on what he felt about it.

Afternoon Snack - Iced Lemon Fibergy Bar. Not too terrible.

Evening Shake - I tried to make it like Mrs. US Int'l did and I failed. But it was still good and he was happy.

Had carrots and an apple for the his nighttime snack. Was a little cranky towards B last night but in all fairness, the four year old just cannot listen at times.

The true test was that he could take off his jeans yesterday just by sliding them off. He did not have to undo the button or zipper. He was ecstatic over that. He also had a harder day at work. He had to keep pulling his pants up constantly.

I say it is a good problem to have.

His overall reaction - the Reset was not all that terrible. It is probably the easiest dieting that he has ever done. And that is great for me to hear.

Fourth Day of Reset for E

This has been an interesting journey. To say the least. Here is the rundown...

Morning Shake - Vanilla w/some vanilla extract added in for more flavor. Made it much better and he was on his way. Made the comment that USANA needed to come up with a pouch that everything could be carried in. We can work on that.

Morning Snack - Peanut Butter Bar. Why risk the meltdown?

Afternoon Shake - still thinks it needs a Hershey bar but it got down. Funny thing was that he called my the day before at this time and informed me in an accusatory manner that this 5 day cleanse only has about 1000 calories a day. In which I told him to knock it off. He has had doctors wanting him on a 1200 calorie diet for as long as I can remember. He can just deal.

Afternoon Snack - Iced Lemon Bar. But after this he is starting to feel dizzy and lightheaded. He overworked himself and that did him in. They usually recommend that you do light activity and he took it to the next level. So he came home and had his fruit early.

E decided when he came home to take a nap. Got mad at me b/c I had to work late. He was cranky the rest of the night.

Evening Shake - was made with love by Mrs. US Int'l. We went over to her house to get my hair love (cut and color) and to strategize marketing stuff. She doctored up his strawberry shake and he is in love with her. We went over different ways to make the shakes taste better and had some great laughs.

Came home and E was still kind of cranky. Nothing we did was right and after a while it got old. I understand that this is not easy and he is still detoxing his body. But this better get easier or he will be sleeping on the deck. Ate his vegetables for the night and went to bed.

He weighed himself this morning and he has lost another three pounds. A total of 13 pounds has been lost and he has lost quite a bit of inches. His jeans are fitting loose and his stomach has shrunk down.

We are at the last day of Reset. Then I will give periodic reports of his weight loss and health. Sorry to bore you this week but I wanted to make a chronological recap of this adventure. Who knows?!?! He may be used by USANA as a walking billboard.

Halfway through E's Week of Reset....

We have hit the halfway point. And it is still going well.

Morning Shake - Vanilla again. Might as well drink the one that he is not so fond of right away and get it over with. He did get a suggestion from Mrs. US Int'l and put some vanilla extract into it. It was better due to that little kick to it.

Morning Snack - Peanut Butter Bar. Still not to bad. Maybe even more tolerable?!?!!?

Afternoon Shake - Chocolate. He joked that maybe he needed to put a Hershey's bar in there to spike the flavor. I told him that I do not think so!!! Made it through and the taste is getting a bit better.

Afternoon Snack - Iced Lemon Fibergy Bar. Still okay. No comment otherwise.

Evening Shake - his favorite of Strawberry. Drank it at his second job and got some more inquiries about it. So that was not bad.

Evening Snack - raw carrots and grapes. He made the comment to me that he can tell the Reset is working for him as the grapes tasted way too sweet!! That was surprising b/c he can just sit there normally and eat grapes like there was no tomorrow. However, this time it took effort to get them down. Amazing.

He did weigh himself this morning and ther was no weight loss. But there are definitely inches that have been lost as his clothes are fitting differently. And he feels good. That is the best part.

We shall see what comes next.

E's Second Day of Reset

The second day was definitely different. Here is the breakdown

Morning Shake - Vanilla is still not his favorite at all but from what I heard it is not a big hit with a lot of people.

Snack Bar - Ate the Peanut Butter Bar early to avoid meltdown in the car. Still thinks it is okay.

Afternoon Shake - Took 2.5 hours to drink down the Chocolate but he did it!! Feeling very tired at this point of the day.

Snack Bar - Iced Lemon Fibergy bar was okay.

Came home and got B from the sitters. He was good but E was completely exhausted. He took a nap while B watched TV and played. I figure his body is completely detoxing and as a result he is exhausted. I was thirsty when I was detoxing. Every person is very different.

Evening Shake - He still likes the Strawberry the best. We added ice and made it more of a milkshake. He drank it while watching American Idol.

Evening Snack - raw carrots and grapes. Felt very full by this time and ready to go to bed again. He will pull together soon. Detox is a pain but necessary!!

Woke up this morning to weigh himself again. No weight loss but since he lose 10 pounds the day before I was not expecting any more loss right away. However, his clothes fit differently and that was very noticeable. His work shirt was a bit loose and his pants were not as snug as usual.

A difference is starting to show.....

E's First Day on Reset

Had to share this with you to follow his weight loss progress.

Monday Morning

Morning weight in - 360 lbs.

Drank morning shake. Flavor was vanilla. Said he could not stand the taste but he drank it anyway.

Ate snack of Iced Lemon Fibergy Bar - overall not bad. Could tolerate it.

Drank afternoon shake. Flavor was chocolate. Said it was better than the Vanilla but still not one of his favorites. He is not used to the shake thing.

Ate snack of Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar - once he realized that we do not leave that in the car and he used the air conditioning to reform it back to what is needed it was good.

Drank evening shake. Flavor was strawberry. Much much better taste. One that he can get used to. He drank it at his second job and got a lot of inquiries about it.

Came home and ate an apple and a cup of green beans and called it a night. He survived Day One!!!

Went to weigh himself this morning. Which he should not have done. Came into our bedroom afterwards and woke me up. Said that something was not right. I asked what was wrong and he informed me that weighed himself and the scale had him at 350 lbs.

He.Lost.Ten.Pounds.In.One.Day!!!!!

OH MY GOD!! This may actually be the thing that he needed for health purposes!! I am so happy to hear that.

What a great story for him to share. Now we need to make sure he follows through with the rest of the week.

GREAT JOB E!!!!

MIA...

Yes, that is what I have felt like lately. We have put a LOT on our plates recently and adjsuting to it has been a challenge but a good challenge.

Not too much has happened from last Tuesday. Working hard to increase my numbers for work and getting more appointments. Which is good. It is always a big adjustment going into a new market.

E's work is going well. He loves the busy fast paced move around his job and they LOVE the experience he brought back with him. It is a new respect and it is good.

E also started on the USANA Reset today. It is their 5 day body clense to help lose weight. So we are keeping our fingers crossed that it works for him. Everyone that we know that has done this has lost weight. If this is his way of losing weight and keeping it off, I am all for it. I have been on the HealthPak 100 vitamin supplements since Friday and I am doing well with it. It is an adjustment letting my body detox also but what are you going to do about it.

We had a pageant that we were at this weekend. It was the Ohio State Cinderella Pageant. I competed in this pageant a LONG time ago. It was good to see what Judy has done with this system here in Ohio. The pageant ran well. I judged on Friday and E did sound the whole weekend. It was enjoyable. There were some incidents over the weekend that I did not care for with the New York Queen and my First Runner Up from when I won Mrs. Ohio but I figure that they just need some prayers at this point in their lives. So keep a prayer open for them as they are needed at this time.

B went to CatWoman's Friday night and spent the rest of the weekend with Grandma & Grandpa. He loved it!! He is always so spoiled when he goes there!!! They enjoyed spending that time with him and I think it was good for my dad who underwent oral surgery this past Thursday. He came out of it just fine which is a blessing for us. With all of his medical problems we get very scared easily when he has to undergo even an minimal procedure. And having B there helped to keep him up and moving.

Got to hang out with Mrs. US Int'l this past Saturday and help her prepare Miss Missouru for Miss International. That was fun but let me tell you, Mrs. US Int'l can shop and shop hard!!! I was exhausted afterwards. But it was very refreshing to be with her, her daughter and Miss Missouri. Especially after Friday night and dealing with New York Queen. I needed to be reminded that I was useful and that when I am asked to help with something, I do come through for those people. I do help to surround those who need it with the tools and resources necessary to help them out.

Sorry if this post seems a bit confusing. With so much going on it is hard to keep everything in chronological order!

The Rudeness of Poll Volunteers

Okay. Today was crazy at the polls with the new machines in Franklin County. But there is no reason that people need to be incredibly rude.

I walked into the poll center that I have to go to. I stood in line. There were three women running the polls. Two were sitting and one was up doing something. I stood at the table waiting to be noticed. The one woman looks at me and looks down. Two more people walk in behind me. The one woman who was sitting looks up. Asks them both if she can help them.

The first time it perturbed me. That was rude. But I was going to be nice. Then it happened again. I attribute my next action to lack of lunch and low blood sugar attack. I decided to ask...

"Excuse me, but am I invisible? I need to make sure that I am not dreaming and that you completely overlooked the fact that I was standing here and you did not help me once."

The second gentleman, who was a city worker, looks at me and says "You are deifinitely NOT invisible!" Nice.

The woman looks at me again and says that another woman will help me. The one that had been away from the table. Something is wrong with this picture.

The woman who was up came and sat down. She apologized quickly and gathered my information. Now for those of you who like to see how truly human I am, I will admit that I was standing in the wrong line. But she was kind and grabbed the book next to her and proceeded to collect my signature and lead me to the polls.

Less than two minutes later I was out of there. I love the new machines that are being used. They are great.

Politics is not my friend!! But here is hoping that the Westerville levy passes so my son can play sports when he is old enough.

Back in Pageant Land

Ahhhh.... I am finally back.

I went to go watch my first pageant since returning from Texas and it feels like I never left. That is the amazing thing about a pageant family. You can leave and if/when you return, they welcome you with open arms.

I had that fortune at Mrs. Ohio United States yesterday. I was invited to attend as a VIP guest. As a titleholder, I was invited up on the stage to be introduced to the audience as a visiting Queen. And that feels good. To know that even though I passed my title along I am still recognized and will forever be recognized as Mrs. Ohio International 2004.

It was good to catch up with other titleholders that I have become friends with. I sat with Lish and with K, Mrs. Ohio America 2004. I also got to visit and get to know the Mrs. Ohio America director. She was trying to get me to come and compete there. But alas, I have hung up the acrylic heels and enjoying my time as a Mrs. Ohio International winner. That is plenty for me at this phase of my life.

Congratulations goes out to Donna Glanzman who won the title of Mrs. Ohio United States 2006. Enjoy your new journey.
